I hope you guys find it useful! To note that, we did not spend much on activities other than parasailing and visiting SkyBridge in Langkawi. Personal Opinions
Both hotels were comfortable. The toilets were clean, the beds were cozy, and the air conditioning worked well. The only downside was that the room at Sleep Box Penang was a bit small for superior room, which made it slightly uncomfortable to move around. As a result, our luggage had to be kept close together and standing upright to save space. However, this hotel provided free washing and drying services, with detergent and softener included. The shared bathroom was clean and came with shampoo and body wash. The room has a adjustable LCD TV, smart door lock, a chair and a various-specification power outlet. Despite the small room size, our stay was very comfortable. It was also quiet in the night.
On the other hand, I highly recommend The Bayou Hotel Langkawi. The service was excellent. The staff always greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel welcome! The swimming pools were great, and the room had Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and even screen mirroring. Most importantly, they provided complimentary snacks, coffee, and Milo. You’ll get a chance to try some Malaysian treats!

As for food, the Classic Hong Kong Style Rice Flour Rolls at Four Hands and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich at Cara Caro Cafe were my recommendations. The rice flour rolls were in high quality, served with spicy chili topping, soy sauce, and had a nice chewy texture. The grilled chicken sandwich had a crunchy bread, and everything smelled and tasted amazing when you took a bite. The plus point for both restaurants was the environment—cozy and clean, which made us felt serene. You should definitely try these two dishes when you visit Penang!

In Langkawi, we didn’t eat out much because it rained the whole day. We ordered Grab Food for convenience. I didn’t try the seafood there, so I can’t comment on the taste. But I asked some locals, and they said it was just average. If you want to try seafood, the locals recommend eating in the city, where prices are more reasonable. Prices in tourist areas tend to be higher than in areas where locals live. (This is just for reference. I’m not sure how true the statement is.)
For transportation, I recommend walking around Penang to enjoy sightseeing and exploring the city. The Grab prices were reasonable—around RM18 to RM20+ for a 6km ride. However, I was surprised by how affordable Grab was in Langkawi. Prices were around RM4 for a 2km ride and RM18 for a 16km ride. It was very convenient and cost-effective for us, even without renting a car.
For activities, you should try riding the SkyCab and walking on the SkyBridge in Langkawi. It was a bit scary on the cable car because of the steep angle, but the view and the cool temperature at the top of the mountain made it worth it. We spent about two hours there. As for parasailing, it’s a must-try water sport. We felt peaceful while floating in the sky, but the boat ride while waiting for others to finish parasailing was unpleasant because the speed of the boat was extremely fast. Which made me think, jet skiing is not a good choice for people who get seasick and are afraid of speed.

That’s all from me. I hope you found this post helpful for you! If you have any questions, feel free to comment down below.
